About MarkerScore

Most longevity tools either hand you a single black-box "age" with no explanation, or bury you in biomarkers with no sense of what matters more. MarkerScore takes a different approach: it shows you the mortality hazard ratio behind every input, and it tells you exactly which study that number comes from.

The calculator combines 8 metrics across three physiological domains — physical capacity, cardiometabolic health, and lifestyle. Because many of these metrics are correlated (your VO₂ max, resting heart rate, and step count all reflect the same underlying fitness), they're aggregated within a domain first, so no single driver is counted several times over.

The result is a directional estimate — a way to see where your biggest opportunities are and to watch the number move as you change a habit. It is not a clinical risk model, and it is not a substitute for a conversation with your doctor. Treat it as a thinking tool, not a diagnosis.

Every figure is sourced. If you want to check the reasoning behind any number, open the Methodology & Sources page or click the evidence badge on any metric in the calculator.
